The Subirats-based winery becomes the 13th to join CORPINNAT and to the shared goal of redefining the identity of the sparkling wines from Penedès.

Cisteller is the new member of the CORPINNAT collective brand after completing all obligatory audits. With them, there are now thirteen wineries in the Penedès represented in the collective and who craft exceptional sparkling wines complying with one of the world’s most demanding rulebooks, focused on rigor and quality (100% organic certified grapes, hand harvest, integral estate vinification and long aging, among others).
Since its inception on April 10th 2018 until now, CORPINNAT has seen the arrival of the following wineries: Gramona, Llopart, Nadal, Recaredo, Sabaté i Coca, Torelló, Huguet-Can Feixes, Júlia Bernet, Mas Candí, Can Descregut, Pardas, Bufadors, and from this moment, Cisteller.
Young and dynamic
Established in 2022, Cisteller is the nascent project of wife and husband winemakers Jessica Madigan and Sergi Canals, who after several years working in some of the world’s greatest wine regions settled in the family estate of El Sot, in the Muntanyes d’Ordal (Subirats).
From their shared experiences, they form a young and dynamic team within themselves. They work together closely in every facet of the grape growing and winemaking cycle with excruciating attention to detail. Their approach to terroir is highlighting the purity and character of the ancient soils with minimal inputs which obscure detail. Putting authenticity and emotion at the center, the wines from Cisteller search for an equilibrium between the intellectual and hedonic.
Cisteller started the path to adhere to the CORPINNAT collective brand from the very beginning. With traditional method sparkling wine being a cornerstone of the project, Cisteller joins CORPINNAT’s goal of redefining the identity of sparkling wine in Penedès.
Cisteller begins its path within CORPINNAT with the simultaneous release of their first two cuvees: Lucidity, a Xarel·lo and Macabeu blend, and Courtship, a 100% Garnatxa Negra blanc de noir. The winery plans the release of two other cuvees in the future.
CORPINNAT is a collective trademark registered in the European Union at the end of 2018 that is open to all those wineries producing sparkling wine that are within the territorial delimitation established by the trademark. The CORPINNAT territory comprises a geographical area that brings together 46 municipalities - all of the Alt Penedès, and some of the Baix Penedès, Alt Camp, Anoia and Baix Llobregat - where, for geographical, geological, climatic and social reasons, indigenous varieties have always been grown for the production of sparkling wines.
