CORPINNAT welcomes Celler Kripta and reaches 16 member wineries
With the incorporation of Celler Kripta, the brand reinforces its commitment to a production model based on organic viticulture, estate-owned vineyards, and a strong focus on the highest quality in sparkling wines.
Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, July 30, 2025.
Celler Kripta is the newest member of the collective brand Corpinnat, having successfully passed all mandatory audits. There are now sixteen wineries in the Penedès region that make up the group, producing sparkling wines in accordance with one of the most demanding regulations in the world in terms of rigor and quality (100% organic grapes, manual harvesting, full vinification on the estate, long aging times, among others).
Since its founding on April 10, 2018, Corpinnat has brought together the following wineries: Gramona, Llopart, Nadal, Recaredo, Sabaté i Coca, Torelló, Huguet de Can Feixes, Júlia Bernet, Mas Candí, Can Descregut, Pardas, Bufadors, Cisteller, Viader, Mas de la Basserola, and now, Celler Kripta.
The legacy of hard work
In 1978, when Agustí Torelló Mata produced the first bottle of Kripta, launching it with an unusual aging period of 5 years, it marked the culmination of a 40-year personal journey. The son of tailors and musicians, he began working at the age of 13, inheriting nothing but his work ethic and a relentless drive to learn by traveling the world where sparkling wines are crafted.
Founder of the Confraria del Cava, former president of the Catalan Association of Oenologists, and recognized as one of the country's great winemakers, in 1986 he inaugurated the new cellars that today make up Celler Kripta, with deep respect for native grape varieties and the terroirs of Penedès.
By joining Corpinnat, Celler Kripta aims to highlight the uniqueness of Penedès wines and a winemaking approach that blends tradition and technology to produce the finest sparkling wines. Celler Kripta represents the work of a family now in its third generation: Gemma, Àlex, Marc, Sofia, and Sara Torelló are heirs to the personal journey of Agustí Torelló Mata, who has made sparkling wines his lifelong passion.
The unique identity of the territory
Celler Kripta crafts all its sparkling wines from grapes vinified entirely on-site, with 100% manual harvests, and certified organic and vegan. It was the first winery to include the disgorging date on all its bottles and has remained faithful to the traditional and unique native grape varieties of Penedès: Macabeu, Xarel·lo, and Parellada—an identifying hallmark of the winery, which now produces 500,000 bottles of long-aged sparkling wine distributed in over 30 countries.
Joining Corpinnat represents a clear commitment to the territory and to the highest standards of quality and prestige represented by the collective brand, empowered by the contribution of each family and values that celebrate the uniqueness of the Penedès.
With this new addition, Corpinnat reaffirms its open and inclusive vision with the aim of strengthening a sector that not only strives for itself but also defends the landscape, supports local farming, and ultimately, preserves the identity of a region and its wines.
