Torrelavit, October 10, 2025
CORPINNAT held this morning at Nadal winery the closing event of the 2025 harvest, during a breakfast that reviewed the crop and presented the data of an exceptional year, both in quality and quantity. The host, Xavier Nadal, opened the event with an analysis of the climatic and agronomic context; Vice President Roc Gramona presented the technical and economic data of the harvest; and Pere Llopart, President of CORPINNAT, closed with a look to the future of the collective and the Penedès region.
Vineyards regain vitality and produce excellent grapes
2025 harvest overview by Xavier Nadal
The host of the day and treasurer of CORPINNAT, Xavier Nadal, began by recalling the context of recent years to understand the magnitude of the 2025 harvest.
After a rainy spring in 2020, Penedès experienced one of the most intense and prolonged droughts in recent decades, lasting until the end of winter 2024. Annual rainfall fell from over 500 l/m² to less than half, leaving the soils completely dry.
From spring 2024, rainfall returned to normal, with over 600 litres that year and more than 700 litres accumulated between September 1, 2024, and August 31, 2025.
Climatic conditions during 2024–2025 were characterized by a mild and rainy autumn, a humid winter, and a rainy but balanced spring, which favoured a regular and vigorous bud break.
The summer, although beginning with an intense heatwave from June 10 to July 3, was followed by a July with more moderate temperatures and record rainfall (between 100 and 200 mm depending on the area). The DANA storm on July 12 left up to 175 litres in Vilafranca, causing the Foix River to overflow.
The 2025 CORPINNAT harvest was characterized by:
- Being one of the earliest in many areas of Penedès.
• A hot and humid summer that accelerated ripening.
• Excellent balance between sugars and acids.
• Normalized production after short harvests.
• The end of the drought: “the vineyards can breathe again,” concluded Nadal.
A record harvest and a shared value model
Data presented by Roc Gramona
Vice President Roc Gramona presented the technical data of the 2025 harvest and highlighted the essential values of CORPINNAT: autochthonous varieties as the core — with xarel·lo, macabeu, and parellada as the main grapes, along with the historic garnacha, monastrell, and sumoll; certified organic viticulture; estate-owned vineyards and collaboration with local growers; and estate winemaking, from grape to bottle.
He also mentioned the start and end dates of the 2025 harvest: beginning on the night of July 31 and ending on September 30.
Regarding the 2025 harvest, Gramona presented data confirming solid and sustained growth of the collective: over 1,200 productive hectares, a harvest reaching nearly 8 million kilograms of grapes, with an average yield of 6,644 kg/ha, above the 4.5 million kg of 2024. Approximately 80% of the grapes were destined for CORPINNAT wines.
Of the total, 48.5% came from estate-owned vineyards (3.87 million kg) and 51.5% from contracted vineyards (4.11 million kg).
The flagship variety, xarel·lo, led the harvest with 3 million kg (37%), followed by macabeu (1.8 Mkg) and parellada (0.6 Mkg).
Gramona highlighted that 94% of the grapes are autochthonous, with a goal of reaching 100% within nine years, and that historic red varieties — sumoll, monastrell, and garnacha — already exceed half a million kilograms, enriching the viticultural diversity of Penedès.
“The 2025 harvest has been the best in recent years, both in quality and quantity, and we expect it will make history in Penedès,” Gramona stated.
Regarding prices, the minimum guaranteed price by CORPINNAT for the 2025 harvest was €0.92/kg. Despite the downward trend across the Penedès region, the effective average price of grapes destined for CORPINNAT was €1.10/kg, with a global average of €1.05/kg. This year, €/ha received by growers rose to €7,000/ha (€7,300/ha for CORPINNAT), a 58% increase compared to 2024, when vineyard yields were extremely low.
CORPINNAT looks to the future with optimism and consolidates its expansion
Closing remarks by Pere Llopart
President Pere Llopart highlighted the expansion of the collective brand. Since the last harvest celebration, CORPINNAT has grown from 12 to 19 wineries, a 58% increase, consolidating the collective as a reference for quality sparkling wines from Penedès.
CORPINNAT represents more than a label: it is a project based on shared values, such as estate winemaking, hand-harvesting, territorial respect, organic production, extended aging, and a strong connection to varieties and traditions that define the viticultural culture of Penedès.
The collective’s growth is not only numerical but also in collective strength, cohesion, and the ability to project the identity of its sparkling wines globally. Llopart also highlighted that CORPINNAT now exceeds 3 million bottles annually, demonstrating growing consumer and prescriber confidence.
The 2025 harvest has been excellent in both quality and volume, with nearly 8 million kilograms of grapes, paid at an average price of €1.10 per kilogram, honoring growers’ efforts and contributing to reversing rural deficits in the sector. These figures reflect a shared effort, a clear commitment to excellence, and a desire to transform the sector.
CORPINNAT has thus consolidated itself as a model of cooperation and quality, defending the territory and giving value to well-done work. The collective’s expansion confirms that the future of top sparkling wines continues to grow, keeping Penedès as a reference for quality sparkling wine.
