Joint statement with Clàssic Penedès on the talks to create a future DO for sparkling wines
The producing wineries of Clàssic Penedès and CORPINNAT have brought the first phase of talks on the creation of a future DO for Penedès sparkling wines to a close without reaching a definitive agreement. Both parties view this period of dialogue very positively, as agreements have been reached on some issues, although disagreements remain on others. After the last meeting, held on 11 March, both parties have agreed that each group will continue working internally on the points of disagreement, without being bound by an immediate timetable.
Both parties remain fully committed to the goal of, and the will to promote, a new DO for Penedès sparkling wines whose core values are the defence of the territory and the quality of the product. These ten months of talks have served to bring positions closer and to reach significant agreements for the future DO, but after this period of contacts we have concluded that the points of disagreement need to be developed further internally.
The producers of both Clàssic Penedès and CORPINNAT wish to express our commitment to dialogue with any group for the good of the sector and the territory as a whole.
