THE MILLENARY
LANDSCAPE OF THE
HEART OF PENEDÈS

Few territories boast such extraordinary landscape diversity as the heart of Penedès. And without doubt, no other place in the country has lived its bond with viticulture with such intensity, persistence and awareness as this land. The vine has become its backbone, shaping not only the face of the landscape but also the identity of the territory and of the people who have lived here for millennia.

Between the Mediterranean and the inland mountain ranges unfolds a mosaic of estates, paths, cliffs, forests, farmland, dry-stone walls, olive groves, crops, towns and villages that together form a natural, cultural and historical landscape of unrivalled value.

Throughout history, the vine has made possible one of the oldest and most uninterrupted winemaking traditions in Europe. The centuries-old passing down of know-how by farmers and winegrowers, women and men alike, has given rise to a winemaking heritage of incalculable value. On this legacy were laid the foundations of the country’s first great sparkling wines, a tradition that Corpinnat’s historic wineries have preserved to this day.

A CULTURE
ROOTED IN THE
TERRITORY

Culture is one of the most genuine expressions of Penedès. Over the centuries, the relationship between the territory and its people has shaped an extraordinarily rich intangible heritage, kept alive through the continuity of traditions, town festivals, folk dances and all kinds of artistic expression that still shape the collective life of Penedès today.

The mosaic of landscapes in this land is also reflected in food production of exceptional quality and variety. Vines, olive trees, cereals, market gardens, orchards and livestock make up a larder closely tied to the seasons and the territory. On this vast larder a cuisine with a strong identity has developed, faithful to local produce yet open to the most contemporary recipes. Corpinnats complete this gastronomic heritage, establishing a natural dialogue with a cuisine that shares the same values of origin, authenticity and quality.
