Corpinnat’s values are founded on non-negotiable commitments that allow no concessions and form the basis of one of the most demanding sets of rules in the world: we preserve our landscape, champion the territory’s historic varieties, certify our sustainability from vineyard to winery, always harvest by hand, press and vinify exclusively on the estate, and ensure the long ageing of our sparkling wines with the quality, rigour and respect for origin that the constant pursuit of excellence demands. A combination of very particular cultural, historical, geographical, climatic and winegrowing elements draws a map with precise borders that delimit the Corpinnat territory: the most authentic and genuine cradle of the first sparkling wines in Spain, which were born and grew up in the heart of a historic region such as Penedès.
Our commitment to sustainability and to preserving the landscape is reflected throughout the entire production process of our sparkling wines. That is why at Corpinnat we certify that 100% of our wineries’ vineyards, grapes and winemaking processes are organic.
More than 90% of our grapes come from the territory’s historic varieties: Xarel·lo, Macabeu, Parellada, Xarel·lo Vermell, Sumoll, Garnatxa Negra and Monastrell. The pledge to reach 100% historic varieties by the 2035 harvest reaffirms Corpinnat’s commitment to the territory and its winemaking tradition.
Picking 100% of our grapes by hand is one of the Corpinnat wineries’ commitments to the quality of our long-aged sparkling wines. Hand harvesting allows us to select in the vineyard and respect the integrity of the grapes until they reach our wineries.
Corpinnat is the only set of rules in Spain that guarantees that all its sparkling wines are made entirely from grapes pressed and vinified on the estate. Under no circumstances is the purchase of base wine, of bottles en pointe or of any raw material other than grapes permitted. This commitment upholds the winemaker’s craft and guarantees rigorous control over the style and quality of the wine from vineyard to bottle.
The territory’s unique characteristics give Corpinnat sparkling wines great ageing potential. That is why we guarantee a minimum ageing of 18 months, well above the minimums set by the most demanding designation-of-origin rules around the world, and we guarantee that every winery offers at least one vintage sparkling wine aged for a minimum of 60 months.
We promote a value chain that respects everyone involved and we dignify the role of the winegrower through fair partnerships and long-term contracts with a guaranteed minimum grape price, well above the average price set by other designations of origin in the territory.
Corpinnat is a European Union collective trademark with one of the most demanding regulations in the world. All Corpinnat wineries certify compliance with the requirements set out in the Trademark Usage Regulations through external audits carried out by Bureau Veritas, and we make our quality sparkling wines to the standards of rigour and excellence of one of the most demanding sets of rules in the wine world.
