On the death of Antoni Mata Casanovas, president of Recaredo

On behalf of the wineries that make up CORPINNAT and the whole team, we wish to express our condolences on the loss of Antoni Mata Casanovas (1942-2023), president of Recaredo and one of the architects of terroir-driven, long-aged sparkling wines in Catalonia.
Innovative and visionary, Antoni Mata advanced the RECAREDO family winery project with a global vision of the business. He worked tirelessly at the forefront of management, creativity, representation and winemaking at RECAREDO, a versatility he was able to manage thanks to his tenacity and constant drive to improve.
His love for the land led him to pioneer the production of terroir sparkling wines capable of expressing the most genuine identity of the Penedès. These values of territory and landscape, which he defended out of conviction, are and will undoubtedly remain an inspiring legacy for us all.
