The thirteen wineries that make up the CORPINNAT collective brand of sparkling wines are hosting the third edition of Tast de Vins Base on Sunday, February 2.
The event will take place at the Hotel El Avenida Palace (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 605, Barcelona) from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and is open to both professionals and wine enthusiasts. Tickets are available for €30.
Come and discover the essence of our Corpinnat wines by tasting the base wines from the 2024 vintage, which express our identity and bring you closer to the heart of the Penedès, the region where they were born.
At each producer’s table, you’ll be able to taste the base wines of the 2024 harvest—both the individual varieties and the blends—made entirely at each winery. Over time, these will evolve into long-aged sparkling Corpinnat wines. You’ll also have the chance to compare a finished Corpinnat with its corresponding base wine from the 2024 harvest and interpret its aging potential.
Would you like to learn more about base wines and their importance in making sparkling wines, directly from the enologists of Corpinnat? This year, as a new feature, we’ve scheduled three guided tastings to dive deeper into the significance of base wines and their role in long-aged Corpinnats.

What’s a Corpinnat Base Wine?
A Corpinnat Base Wine is a wine yet without bubbles, representing the foundation of what will become a future sparkling Corpinnat. It is a wine that already has the potential to become a great sparkling, expressing the essential characteristics and early nuances with all its long aging still ahead. The Corpinnat Base Wine is a wine in process that, in its youth, projects a delicate balance between a defined acidity and an emerging maturation.

GRAMONA
Gramona has been working its land uninterruptedly since the mid-19th century. A family with a long winemaking tradition, from Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, pioneering long-aged sparkling wines in our country. The fifth and sixth generations have perfected the ability to transform their wines into great sparkling wines, maintaining traditional processes: natural cork stoppers during ageing, riddling desks and manual disgorgement. They are committed to respecting the land and the environment, and they practise a conscious terroir-based viticulture that respects the legacy they have received while adding their own knowledge and experience.

LLOPART
The winegrowing tradition of the Llopart family has been rooted in the family Estate in Subirats since the XIV Century. Their 102 hectares of ecologically cultivated mountain vineyards sit on shady slopes in of the highest areas of the Penedés. Llopart has been producing quality sparkling wines for more than 135 years, firmly defending the traditional method and craftsmanship of the wine, with respect for sustainability and always seeking the authenticity of lengthy aging.

NADAL
The origin of our sparkling wines dates back to the end of the Spanish Civil War, when Ramon Nadal Giró reclaimed the vineyards that had been expropriated to create an airfield. He decided to redirect the family business from a wine distillery to the production of sparkling wine. As a result, in 1943, the first bottle of Nadal Brut sparkling wine was introduced.
Eighty years later, our vineyards, cultivated following the principles of organic viticulture, continue to provide us with the fruits of the historical grape varieties of Penedès. With these, we craft long-aged corpinnats using the artisanal rituals of the méthode champenoise. With the advent of the new climatic reality, in the 1990s, we began producing white wines from xarel

RECAREDO
Recaredo is a family of biodynamic winegrowers specialized Millésime Brut Nature Long-Aged Sparkling Wines. They are committed to capturing the landscapes of CORPINNAT in a bottle. That’s what drives them to cultivate family-owned vineyards planted with 100% autochthonous varieties, specially Xarel·lo grapes. Recaredo’s Sparkling Wines have forged a truly unique style defined by long-ageing –from a minimum of 30 months to over 20 years in the darkness of their cellars. All Recaredo’s sparkling wines, without exception, are aged with natural cork stoppers, which are technically ideal for preserving the original character of a long-aged wine. At Recaredo, disgorgement is still done by true artisans, who expel the lees manually at the naturally cool temperature of the cellars.

SABATÉ I COCA
The fourth generation of the Sabaté i Coca family cares for, works and pay homage to an estate located in the valley of the River Bitlles covering 40 hectares. The will to become aware of the different soils of the estate made Marcel Sabaté a differential viticulture according to the 18 profiles that have been discovered of the soil.
The Castellroig range of wines expresses the harmony and complexity of the more tan 60 micro-plots that make up this estate. These singular soils, which give the wines a vibrant typical varietal and that express the mineral content of the vineyard, are vinified separately. Named singular wines are: Terroja, Mosset, Josep Coca and the qualified plot “Cava de paratge qualificat” Reserva Familiar of Sabaté and Coca (a vineyard with Xarel·lo vines of more than 100 years).

TORELLÓ
The Torelló corpinnat sparklings originate from the vineyards of the Can Martí estate that have belonged to the Torelló family since 1395 (XIV century) and which occuppy 135 hectares in Gelida (Alt Penedés region). Own vineyards, organic farming, manual harvesting, vinified on the property and long ageing define the Torelló sparkling wines. We only produce long aged quality sparkling wines, DO Penedés white, rosé and red wines and extra virgin olive oil.

HUGUET DE CAN FEIXES
The Can Feixas estate is located in the northernmost part of the Penedés, In the highlands of Cabrera and Mediona. At 400 meters above sea level on the slopes of the interior mountains which geographically separate the regions of the Penedés and Anoia. Founded in 1768 by Jaume Feixas, the Can Feixas estate was purchased from his descendants by the Huguet family at the beginning of the XX century. We produce both still and sparkling wines exclusively from our own manually harvested grapes.

JÚLIA BERNET
Júlia Bernet is a family winery located on the Ordal mountains with vineyards that grow on rough and calcareous soil located at 400 metres above sea level. The still and sparkling wines of this estate are all grown ecologically and are exclusively harvested manually. The case of Júlia Bernet is the paradigm of a family if landowners who 20 years ago decided to produce their own still and sparkling wines concentrating on quality and the undertaking with the land from serious and honest points of view.

MAS CANDÍ
The young winery of Mas Candi commenced activities in 2006 and is located in the area of Les Gunyoles d’Avinyonet on the Garraf hills. We are wine growing landowners wishing to continue with the cultivation of vines planted by our grandparents and which the family had owned since the XVI century. Respectful of nature and seeking a natural balance for the vines, by cultivating them ecologically and with careful handling. Defenders of the autochthonous varieties which for years have been cultivated in our area and which have shown us their adaptability. With our inquiring and restless nature we like to experiment with different techniques both in the production of wines and in the vineyards with the vines.

CAN DESCREGUT
From the Can Descregut farmhouse located in Vilobí del Penedès, Arantxa de Cara and Marc Milà produce wines and quality sparkling wines. They follow a criteria of minimal intervention so as to express the typicality of the Penedès and the character of the Vilobí soils that provide a calcareous minerality rich in gypsum. With an area of 25 hectares of organic cultivation, the old vines predominate with the ancient and traditional varieties Xarel·lo, Macabeu, Parellada, Sumoll and Red Xarel·lo. Of the latter, they were pioneers in their recovery.

PARDAS
Pardas represents the lifelong project of Pamon Parera and Jordi Arnan to produce the best possible wines at the Can Comas Estate, in the heart of the valley of the river Bitlles, in the North of the Penedès region. We care for and live on the land. Our undertaking is to cultivate all the grapes we require for our production. This means for us a remarkably high value. We join Corpinnat with the same philosophy which has been the characteristic that has accompanied us along the road with our still wines, defending and valuing all the potential for ageing of our principal varieties: Xarel-lo and Sumoll.
All our sparkling wines are Brut Nature. We feel that in this way we faithfully maintain the primary characteristics of our musts.

BUFADORS
It is a small family winery located in Can Rossell de la Serra, Torrelavit, Alt Penedès. It is a project of great freedom, but also of great precision and delicacy, because exclusively the elements of the vineyard and the grapes themselves are used. The second fermentation in the bottle is carried out with must from the vineyard itself and the same vintage. There is no filtration, no stabilization, no clarification, nor is any type of oenological additive used, nor sulfites, nor fining agents, nor commercial yeasts. The aging in the bottle is done with a natural cork stopper and it is “disgorged” by hand. 3.5 hectares of organic and biodynamic vineyards very close to the winery. The first Bufadors harvest was in 2013.

CISTELLER
The nascent project of winemaker husband and wife duo Jessica Madigan and Sergi Canals began in 2022. Their highly efficient new winery, located on the 20ha family estate ‘Finca el Sot’ in Muntanyes d’Ordal, is a space of exploration for what defines true terroir in both sparkling and still expressions of Xarel·lo. Their approach to terroir is highlighting the pure texture of the ancient marine soils with minimal inputs which obscure detail. They are joining Corpinnat in its journey to redefine the identity of sparkling wine in the Penedès, respecting the rigor and commitment to the traditional method, while bringing a fresh perspective after working in some of the world´s greatest wine regions. As a dynamic team consisting of just the two of them, they work together closely in every facet of the grape growing and winemaking cycle with excruciating attention to detail and aspire to make wines which create tension between the intellectual and the hedonic.
