Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, November 2019.- The three living generations of the nine winegrowing families that currently make up CORPINNAT (Gramona, Llopart, Nadal, Recaredo, Sabaté i Coca, Torelló, Huguet-Can Feixes, Júlia Bernet and Mas Candí) took part last Saturday in an intergenerational gathering to celebrate the start of the first Christmas season in which the collective brand of quality sparkling wines carries its quality seal on the labels. The gathering took the form of a lunch at the restaurant El Mirador de les Caves, in Subirats, and brought together some seventy representatives of all the wineries, from the parents of those currently running the wineries to the younger generations who, in some cases, have already begun to get involved in the family business.

Xavier Gramona, co-president of CORPINNAT, gave the welcome speech and stressed the historic nature of the gathering, while also highlighting “the generosity shown by both the families and the wineries in giving strength and meaning to a brand that has a great future and which, we can already say, gives its name to a valley that is the cradle of our vineyards”.

The lunch was highly emotional, especially when the parents of those now running the wineries publicly congratulated their children on having been able to join forces to carry forward an “ambitious and necessary” project to showcase the great sparkling wines made in the heart of the Penedès under some of the strictest quality standards in the world.

Antoni Mata, president of Recaredo and father of Ton Mata, the winery’s third generation, and Ernestina Torelló, president of Torelló and mother of the brothers Paco and Toni de la Rosa, who now run the winery, praised the “understanding and generosity” their children have shown in making “an inclusive and disruptive dream that will shape the future of the great sparkling wines of the Penedès” come true. Enric Nadal, president of Nadal and father of Xavier Nadal, now oenologist and director of the family winery, also spoke to publicly acknowledge the “enormous work done so far”, while recalling that “there is still a great deal to do”, and urged the new generations “to keep pedalling hard” so that CORPINNAT becomes established as “a prestigious brand recognised all over the world”.

The message from Enric Nadal was taken up by Roc Gramona, oenologist at the winery run by his father, Jaume Gramona, who, on behalf of the younger generation, took on the challenge of continuing the effort to secure the future of CORPINNAT.
