Clear growth continues in both turnover and average price per bottle

Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, 11 March 2025.- Seven years after it was founded, Corpinnat is optimistic, confirming a rising trend in the value of the sparkling wines made under the collective brand. The average price per bottle rose by 4.7% compared with 2023, a figure that has kept growing since its foundation. This is one of the figures included in the 2024 Economic and Social Report, presented this morning in Barcelona by Ton Mata and Xavier Nadal, president and vice-president of Corpinnat.

In 2024, the slight decrease in sales by volume (-2.63%) was accompanied by a small increase in turnover (+1.7%), with a total of 2.22 million bottles sold. Over the past year, the wineries under the brand increased their overall turnover by almost half a million euros, reaching 26.87 million euros. As already mentioned in the 2023 report, they have suffered the effects of a drought that has resulted in a significant reduction in grape production. This climate context of extreme drought in the Penedès has led to a general rise in prices. Corpinnat is no exception, setting the regulated minimum price for the 2024 campaign at €0.88/kg (47% more than in 2018). The average price paid by Corpinnat for grapes bought from external winegrowers stood at €1.09/kg overall and €1.15/kg for Corpinnat.

Despite this difficult situation, Corpinnat continues to safeguard origin, ensuring provenance, with grapes from historic varieties that are exclusively organic and hand-harvested, guaranteeing fair prices for the entire value chain, and with pressing and full vinification at the winery. Long ageing – a minimum of 18 months, with 18% of production aged for more than 60 months and 11,597,542 bottles resting in the cellar – is one of the fundamental pillars that make it possible to guarantee quality and stability over the years.

Average yields in 2024 were 3,666 kg/ha – 23% lower than in 2023 – due to the drought that has affected Penedès vineyards for the fourth consecutive year. It was a harvest that was short in kilos (4.5 million kilos) and long in duration, running from 30 July to 26 September. Currently, 40% of Corpinnat grapes come from estate-owned vineyards and the remaining 60% are bought from independent winegrowers. Total grape purchases amounted to just over €3 million, for 2.7 million kg of grapes.

As for Corpinnat’s exports, the figure decreased slightly overall in 2024, standing at 17.02% of total production, sold in a total of 66 countries around the world, most notably Germany, Canada, Denmark, the USA, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Switzerland.

The president and vice-president expressed optimism about the future, more than a decade after they began organising themselves as a collective and at a time when the number of wineries interested in taking the step of joining Corpinnat continues to grow.
