Last Friday, 11 April, the Corpinnat territory welcomed a delegation from the Académie du Vin de France, one of the most influential institutions in the European wine world, founded in 1933 with the aim of preserving and promoting the cultural dimension of wine.

The visit to Corpinnat was part of a wider trip through Catalonia, during which members of the Académie toured some of the region’s most emblematic wine areas: Priorat, Penedès and Corpinnat. The programme also included a gala dinner in Barcelona and their annual meeting.

Friday’s event was held at the Recaredo winery in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia and brought together all the producers within Corpinnat, who took part in a joint showroom to present their quality sparkling wines. In addition to tasting some of the wines from the 15 wineries that make up the Corpinnat collective brand, during the afternoon the visitors also had the opportunity to tour Recaredo’s facilities, where they learned first-hand about the production techniques, vinification processes and Corpinnat values.

The Académie delegation was made up of figures from some of the most emblematic French wine regions, such as Champagne, Burgundy, Alsace, Bordeaux, the Rhône Valley and the Loire, among others. Among those attending were notable names such as Pierre Trimbach, president of the Académie; the renowned winegrower Anselme Selosse; and Joan Josep Abó, correspondent of the Académie du Vin de France in Spain.

Pierre Trimbach, president of the Académie du Vin de France, enthusiastically thanked his hosts for their welcome and described the day as “an exceptional tasting and, above all, a discovery”. He also stated that “now, on our travels, we will undoubtedly look more closely at sparkling wine lists to see where Corpinnat appears”.

The event ended with a talk by Anselme Selosse, a member of the Académie, who shared his reflections on the connection between landscape, wine and the winegrower’s personal expression:

“What I have discovered in the wines of Corpinnat is a shared emotion, born of the seriousness and rootedness of those who make them. They are sapid wines that make you salivate, that express life and territory, because behind each of them there is an ecosystem that is respected and preserved. When natural balances are protected, the terroir expresses itself powerfully, and that is what gives meaning and unity to this collective brand.”

The visit is part of a drive towards openness and international exchange on the part of the Académie du Vin de France, which seeks to strengthen dialogue with wine projects committed to quality, origin and respect for terroir. The meeting made it possible to build bridges between two wine traditions with shared values and to open new avenues of mutual understanding.
