- CORPINNAT will support candidates for the Board of the Regulatory Council of the Cava PDO who defend the land with an unequivocal and unreserved commitment. The integration of the winegrower into the value chain, the implementation of medium-term contracts with fair payment for grapes, the distinction of wines according to their place of origin and the definition of the land as a benchmark of identity and sustainability must be central pillars of the candidates’ proposals.
- CORPINNAT will support candidates who directly and unreservedly address the opportunities facing the Cava PDO. Problems must be solved such as private labels, the low cost strategy that has led to Cava’s current image, the lack of zoning within the designation of origin itself, and the lack of clear labelling terminology to guide consumers. CORPINNAT will support those candidates who propose corrective measures in all these areas
- CORPINNAT will support candidates who embrace initiatives such as the CORPINNAT collective brand, which seek to enhance the quality and prestige of cava around the world.
- The six wineries that currently make up CORPINNAT believe that cava has no more room for manoeuvre to achieve the position it deserves. We believe that cava’s governing bodies must recognise that action has to be taken immediately, as otherwise we will lose any chance of sitting at the table of the world’s finest sparkling wines. Nor do we believe that those responsible for initiating this change should be people removed from the repositioning that is needed. We need a future president of the Regulatory Council with a great capacity for self-discipline and sacrifice, and who recognises the reality of many producers and winegrowers.
