Gramona, Llopart, Nadal, Recaredo, Sabaté i Coca and Torelló join forces to promote this new seal, which aims to bring together all producers in the area who meet the quality standards set out in the new brand’s rules of use. Organic grapes vinified on the estate, ageing of more than 18 months and a guaranteed minimum price for the winegrower are some of the commitments that producers wishing to come under the new brand will have to demonstrate.

Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, 10 April 2018.- In early October this year the first bottles bearing the European Union Collective Brand CORPINNAT will reach the market. This new project, promoted by the wineries Gramona, Llopart, Nadal, Recaredo, Sabaté i Coca and Torelló, has been created with the aim of bringing prestige to the sparkling wines of the heart of the Penedès. The new collective brand is open to all sparkling wine producers located within the CORPINNAT territorial boundaries that meet the demanding commitments set out in the rules of use: hand harvesting, certified organic grapes, the use of historical varieties —with special emphasis on native ones—, full vinification on the estate, ageing of more than 18 months, a guaranteed minimum price for the winegrower with a gradual increase, and a commitment to rigour and self-discipline.

CORPINNAT covers a geographical area of 46 municipalities —all those in the Alt Penedès, and some in the Baix Penedès, Alt Camp, Anoia and Baix Llobregat— where, for geographical, geological, climatic and social reasons, native varieties have always been grown to make sparkling wines. The CORPINNAT territory has historically accounted for most of the production of cava and other traditional-method sparkling wines.
