The Catalan Government's Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food, Teresa Jordà, received the board of the CORPINNAT Association of Winegrowers and Producers (AVEC) at the Parliament of Catalonia last Friday, 26 October, to learn first-hand about the characteristics and philosophy of the new EU collective brand, which aims to bring prestige to the great sparkling wines made in the heart of the Penedès.

On behalf of the Government of Catalonia, the minister expressed her support for and affinity with the project and highlighted CORPINNAT's commitment to championing the primary sector and the land through a guaranteed minimum price and long-term contracts with winegrowers.

"With this philosophy, you are a guarantee of generational renewal at the helm of the vineyards, but you are also encouraging the emergence of new, young producers, and I particularly want to thank you for that because it is very good news"

"With this philosophy, you are a guarantee of generational renewal at the helm of the vineyards, but you are also encouraging the emergence of new, young producers, and I particularly want to thank you for that because it is very good news", said Minister Jordà at the end of the meeting.

Ton Mata, co-president of AVEC and managing director of Recaredo, highlighted the collaboration and cooperation between companies from the same sector and the same product segment in driving forward a project he described as "exciting and inclusive".

Mata pointed out that CORPINNAT's ultimate goal is to "play in the Champions League of the world's sparkling wines. We must be the great sparkling wine of Catalonia, without belittling anyone, and always championing the principles of land and quality that guide our brand", concluded the AVEC co-president.

The CORPINNAT delegation was completed by Jaume Mata (Gramona), Pere Llopart (Llopart), Xavier Nadal (Nadal) , Joserp Sabaté (Sabaté i Coca) and Toni de la Rosa (Torelló).

On behalf of the Catalan Government, the minister was accompanied by the director general of the Catalan Institute of Vine and Wine (Incavi), Salvador Puig, and her chief of staff, Jordi Aranda.
