Fèlix Massana Ràfols is the latest winery to join the Corpinnat collective brand, which now brings together twenty-four producing wineries located in the heart of the Penedès and committed to a model based on organic viticulture and respect for the land; to dignifying farming by guaranteeing fair prices for grapes; and to the consumer, through the production of long-aged, quality sparkling wines subject to the highest certification standards.

The newest winery in the Corpinnat Collective Brand was founded at the start of this millennium, although the Massana family have been growing grapes in the vineyards of Sant Pau d’Ordal for four generations. It is an area surrounded by woodland, with limestone soils where vineyards of the grape varieties authorised by Corpinnat are grown, some of them more than thirty years old.

Fèlix Massana learnt the winegrower’s craft and the traditional method of making sparkling wine from a very young age and, in 2001, set up his own winery, where he makes sparkling and still wines.

Fèlix Massana Ràfols is a family winery, led by Fèlix Massana and Cristina Castillo and followed by their daughters Marta and Júlia Massana.

The incorporation of Fèlix Massana Ràfols into Corpinnat crowns a demanding audit and certification process carried out by Bureau Veritas to ensure compliance with the collective brand’s rules of use. Among other requirements, the winery has demonstrated organic viticulture over the past three years and has passed the audits of its sparkling wine production process, as well as the sensory audits and the base wine tastings. With this addition, approved at the general assembly held on 28 September, Corpinnat now has 24 member wineries.

Since its founding on 10 April 2018, the following have joined: Gramona, Llopart, Nadal, Recaredo, Sabaté i Coca, Torelló, Huguet de Can Feixes, Júlia Bernet, Mas Candí, Can Descregut, Pardas, Bufadors, Cisteller, Viader, Mas de la Basserola, Celler Kripta, Demost, Mas Bertran, AT Roca, Celler Mir, Torné & Bel, Juvé & Camps, Mas Vilella and, now, Fèlix Massana Ràfols.
