Torrelavit, 10 October 2025

This morning CORPINNAT held the closing event of the 2025 harvest at the Nadal winery, at a breakfast that served to take stock of the vintage and present the figures of an exceptional year in both quality and quantity. The host, Xavier Nadal, opened the event with an analysis of the climatic and agronomic context; vice-president Roc Gramona presented the technical and economic data of the harvest; and Pere Llopart, president of CORPINNAT, closed with a look at the future of the collective and of the Penedès.

The vines regain their vitality and produce excellent grapes

2025 harvest review by Xavier Nadal

The host of the day and treasurer of CORPINNAT, Xavier Nadal, began his speech by recalling the context of recent years in order to understand the magnitude of the 2025 harvest.

After a spring 2020 with abundant rainfall, the Penedès experienced one of the most intense and prolonged droughts of recent decades, which lasted until the end of winter 2024. Annual rainfall fell from more than 500 l/m² to less than half that, leaving the soils completely parched.

From spring 2024 onwards, the rainfall pattern returned to normal, with more than 600 litres that year and more than 700 litres accumulated between 1 September 2024 and 31 August 2025.

The weather conditions of the 2024-2025 period were characterised by a mild and rainy autumn, a wet winter and a rainy but balanced spring, which led to regular and vigorous budbreak.

Although the summer began with an intense heatwave between 10 June and 3 July, it was followed by a July with more moderate temperatures and record rainfall (between 100 and 200 mm depending on the area). The DANA storm of 12 July left up to 175 litres in Vilafranca, causing the River Foix to burst its banks.

The 2025 harvest at CORPINNAT was characterised by:

  • Being one of the earliest in many areas of the Penedès.
  • A humid, hot summer that accelerated ripening.
  • An excellent balance between sugars and acids.
  • Yields returning to normal after short harvests.
  • The end of the drought: “the vines are breathing again”, Nadal concluded.

A record harvest and a model of shared value

Figures presented by Roc Gramona

The vice-president of CORPINNAT, Roc Gramona, presented the technical data of the 2025 harvest and listed CORPINNAT’s essential values: native varieties as the central pillar —with Xarel·lo, Macabeu and Parellada in the leading roles, alongside the historic Garnatxa, Monestrell and Sumoll—; certified organic viticulture; estate-owned vineyards and collaboration with local winegrowers; and full vinification on the estate, from grape to bottle.

During his speech, he gave the start and end dates of the 2025 harvest: it began in the early hours of 31 July and finished on 30 September.

As for the 2025 harvest, Gramona presented figures that confirm solid and sustained growth for the collective: more than 1,200 productive hectares, a harvest that reached almost 8 million kilos of grapes, with an average yield of 6,644 kg/ha, up from 4.5 million kilos in 2024. Approximately 80% of the grapes went into making CORPINNAT wines.

In terms of origin, 48.5% comes from estate-owned vineyards (3.87 million kg) and 51.5% from contracted vineyards (4.11 million kg).

The flagship variety, Xarel·lo, leads the harvest with 3 million kg (37%), followed by Macabeu (1.8 Mkg) and Parellada (0.6 Mkg).

Gramona highlighted that 94% of the grapes are native varieties, with the aim of reaching 100% within nine years, and that the historic red varieties — Sumoll, Monastrell and Garnatxa— already exceed half a million kilos, enriching the diversity of the Penedès vineyard mosaic.

“The 2025 harvest has been the best in recent years, in both quality and quantity, and we expect it to make history in the Penedès”, Gramona stated.

Regarding prices, the minimum guaranteed price set by CORPINNAT for the 2025 harvest was €0.92/kg. Despite the downward trend across the Penedès as a whole, the actual average price of grapes destined for CORPINNAT stood at €1.10/kg, and the overall average at €1.05/kg. This year the €/ha received by winegrowers rose to €7,000/ha (€7,300/ha for CORPINNAT), an increase of 58% compared with 2024, when vineyard yields were exceptionally low.

“The 2025 harvest has been the best in recent years, in both quality and quantity, and we expect it to make history in the Penedès”

CORPINNAT looks to the future with optimism and consolidates its expansion

Closing remarks by Pere Llopart

The president of CORPINNAT, Pere Llopart, highlighted the expansion the collective brand is experiencing. Since the previous harvest celebration, CORPINNAT has gone from 12 to 19 wineries, a growth of 58% that consolidates the collective as the benchmark for quality sparkling wines from the Penedès.

CORPINNAT is more than a seal: it is a project based on shared values, such as full in-house vinification, hand harvesting, respect for the territory, organic production, long ageing and rootedness in the varieties and traditions that define the winegrowing culture of the Penedès.

The growth of the collective is not only numerical, but also in terms of collective strength, cohesion and the capacity to project to the world the identity of its sparkling wines. Llopart also highlighted that CORPINNAT already exceeds 3 million bottles a year, demonstrating the growing confidence of consumers and opinion leaders.

The 2025 harvest has been excellent, in both quality and volume, with almost 8 million kilos of grapes, paid at an average price of €1.10 per kilo, dignifying the efforts of winegrowers and helping to reverse the rural deficit of the sector. These figures reflect shared work, a clear commitment to excellence and a determination to transform the sector.

CORPINNAT has thus established itself as a model of cooperation and quality that defends the territory and values a job well done. The expansion of the collective confirms that the future of great sparkling wines continues to grow, keeping the Penedès as the benchmark for quality sparkling wine.
