The addition reinforces the project’s founding values: 100% production within the territory, sustainability, estate-owned vineyards and the pursuit of the highest quality in sparkling wines.

Mas de la Basserola is the new member of the CORPINNAT collective brand after passing all the mandatory audits. The collective now brings together fifteen wineries from the Penedès territory that make sparkling wines following one of the world’s most demanding sets of regulations in terms of rigour and quality (100% organic grapes, hand harvesting, full vinification on the estate and long ageing, among others).

From its creation on 10 April 2018 to the present day, CORPINNAT has gradually brought in the following wineries: Gramona, Llopart, Nadal, Recaredo, Sabaté i Coca, Torelló, Huguet de Can Feixes, Júlia Bernet, Mas Candí, Can Descregut, Pardas, Bufadors, Cisteller, Viader and, as of today, Mas de la Basserola.

In harmony with nature

Since the mid-19th century, Mas de la Basserola has been a family manor house with a strong winegrowing character, where the Vives family has been making wine without interruption since 1869. With 40 years devoted to making quality sparkling wines, they work with the same values and philosophy as Corpinnat. They champion the recovery of the romance of a self-sufficient Penedès, the cradle of sparkling wine in Spain, where each estate made its own wines – a model that kept the region going for centuries and that will undoubtedly prepare it for the challenges ahead.

By joining Corpinnat, they wish to give visibility to many years of effort, in which the whole family – Joan, Teresa, Guillem and Martine, and the little ones growing up – continue to work hard to keep alive the essence of growing, making and bottling at the Mas in harmony with light and nature.

Strength for the territory

Mas de la Basserola has been producing with organic certification since 2000, always with hand harvesting and grapes from its own vineyards. It is also the collective’s first winery from the Pla de Manlleu, which strengthens CORPINNAT’s territorial roots.

Coming under the Corpinnat umbrella represents a twofold gain, consolidating an ever more robust collective project that keeps the Penedès winegrowing fabric alive. Thanks to its strength, the challenges facing the territory can be met with confidence and solidity, with a vision of the future full of hope in the face of the serious threats to this landscape.

The clear commitment to quality of all CORPINNAT member wineries is bearing fruit, with an increase in value throughout the entire wine sector.

With this new addition, CORPINNAT reaffirms its open and inclusive approach, with the aim of giving structure to a sector that not only fights for itself but also embraces the defence of the landscape, support for farmers and, ultimately, the identity of a set of wines and of a territory.
