Corpinnat welcomes Celler Kripta and reaches 16 member wineries
Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, 30 July 2025.
Celler Kripta is the new member of the Corpinnat collective brand after passing all the mandatory audits. The collective now brings together sixteen wineries from the Penedès territory that make sparkling wines following one of the world’s most demanding sets of regulations in terms of rigour and quality (100% organic grapes, hand harvesting, full vinification on the estate and long ageing, among others).
From its creation on 10 April 2018 to the present day, Corpinnat has gradually brought in the following wineries: Gramona, Llopart, Nadal, Recaredo, Sabaté i Coca, Torelló, Huguet de Can Feixes, Júlia Bernet, Mas Candí, Can Descregut, Pardas, Bufadors, Cisteller, Viader, Mas de la Basserola and, as of today, Celler Kripta.
When, in 1978, Agustí Torelló Mata made the first bottle of Kripta and released it onto the market with an unusual ageing of 5 years, it crowned a personal journey of 40 years of work. The son of tailors and musicians, he began working at the age of 13 with nothing to inherit but his own work and a tenacious drive to learn, travelling all over the world wherever sparkling wines are made.
Founder of the Confraria del Cava, president of the Catalan Association of Oenologists and recognised as one of the country’s great oenologists, in 1986 he opened the new cellars that today are Celler Kripta, with absolute respect for the native varieties and soils of the Penedès.
By joining Corpinnat, Celler Kripta seeks to highlight the uniqueness of Penedès wines and a way of winemaking that combines tradition and technology to achieve the finest sparkling wines. Celler Kripta is the work of a family now in its third generation: Gemma, Àlex, Marc, Sofia and Sara Torelló are heirs to the personal journey of Agustí Torelló Mata, who made sparkling wines his life’s passion.
Celler Kripta makes all its sparkling wines from wines produced at the winery, with 100% hand harvesting and organic and vegan certification. It was the first winery to state the disgorgement date on every bottle and to remain faithful to the traditional and unique native varieties of the Penedès: Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Parellada, a hallmark of the winery, which today produces 500,000 bottles of long-aged sparkling wines sold in more than 30 countries.
Joining Corpinnat is a clear commitment to the territory and to the highest quality and prestige represented by the collective brand, with the strength and imprint that each family brings, with values that dignify the uniqueness of the Penedès.
With this new addition, Corpinnat reaffirms its open and inclusive approach, with the aim of giving structure to a sector that not only fights for itself but also embraces the defence of the landscape, support for farmers and, ultimately, the identity of a set of wines and of a territory.
