The story of Celler Kripta begins in 1960, when Agustí Torelló and Carmen Sibill married. They had left school at 13, with no vineyards or wineries to their name.
It is the story of a generation, of Penedès, and of a sparkling wine tradition particularly rooted in the town of Sant Sadurní. Hard work, tenacity, a desire to learn and to travel the world wherever there were vineyards, and a particular sensitivity made Agustí Torelló one of the most renowned winemakers in the country.
In 1978, the first bottle of Kripta was made, true to the origin of the native Penedès varieties that shape a sparkling wine of inimitable singularity. Today, Celler Kripta is a leading family winery, present in more than 30 countries. Children of the heart of Penedès, they make sparkling wines with Soul.
