Since 1510, the Nadal family has grown grapes and made wine at Finca Nadal de la Boadella. In the post-war years, when Ramon Nadal Giró recovered the vineyard expropriated between 1936 and 1939 to build a Republican airfield, he decided to abandon the production of wine spirit and take up the making of sparkling wines from the estate’s own native varieties. In 1943, the first bottle of Nadal Brut saw the light of day.
